August 2011

Progress update

Slaty Farlan

  • Storm Facility -  Confirmation that we have been able to commission part of the new storm facility following the rainfall in week ending 14 August  2011.
  • Supplementary Treatment Facility - Work on programme for acceptance testing Aug/Sept 2011.
  • Marine outfall installation - Completed end of June 2011.
  • new security fence installed

Kinloch Park Pumping Station

  • We have a new storm pumps (800l/s) at KPPS set on automatic control to replace the need for the temporary hydrainer pumps.
  • Existing Hydrainers pumps removed.
  • Over 4000 cubic meters have been pumped successfully from the KPPS storm well and discharged to the Loch through the new outfall at Slaty Farlan.
  • Final commissioning of the foul  (100l/s) and storm pumps on programme for acceptance testing Aug/Sept 2011.
  • The tideflex valve has been installed on the end of the existing KPPS outfall and the existing flap valve removed.

Sewer Upgrades

  • Sewer Ugrades on St John St will be completed in September 2011
  • The existing large diameter sewers have been cleaned out this week.

Commissioning Update

  • Successfully completed commissioning of the SAF process stream at Slaty Farlan.
  • The new treatment process has maintained excellent effluent quality within the design envelope even though it has been shocked by Trade  Effluent  discharges (ceased as of mid to late July.)
  • We have final commissioning checks to complete on the Storm return sequence which will require flows.
  • At KPPS the foul pumps are operating successfully and achieving the required flow rates.
  • The storm pumps are now partially commissioned and left in automatic mode
