Welcome to the website for the Edinburgh (Seafield) Waste Water Treatment Works (WWTW) Odour Improvement Plan
Over the next 3 years, Scottish Water together with Veolia Water, the operators of the Seafield WWTW, will be delivering a multi-million pound project to deal with odour issues at Seafield.
The Odour Improvement Plan, aims to tackle key odour sources through multi million pound investment package.
The key phasing of the works is:
- Planning & Design - Spring 2008 - Spring 2009
- Award design & build contract - Spring 2009
- Start construction works –Summer 2009
- Complete preliminary treatment works –2010
- Complete odour improvement works –2011
An important part of this Odour Improvement Plan is the input and support of our customers and the local community. Throughout this project we will be keeping all stakeholders informed of activity and progress through a variety of channels including direct communications and this website. We aim to update this site with all key developments and progress milestones. We hope you find the site both interesting and informative.
Once the Odour Improvement Plan works are completed, this investment will help to significantly reduce the odour impact on the local community bringing a cleaner, fresher environment.
